14-day quarantine and a RT-PCR three days earlier for outsiders entering Labuan from now on. (Bernama pic)PETALING JAYA: Those travelling to Labuan must undergo a mandatory RT-PCR test three days before their arrival, senior minister for security Ismail Sabri Yaakob said.
In a statement, he said they would need to undergo a mandatory quarantine.
Labuan residents and civil servants will need to undergo quarantine for 10 days, while foreigners must undergo a quarantine for 14 days.
Meanwhile, those with a Daily Transporter Card must undergo an RT-PCR test every two weeks, and an RTK-Antigen test every week.
He added that ship sign on/off will be postponed. However, ship sign off is allowed with a 14-day quarantine and one RT-PCR test.
Entry of non-conventional ships (kapal kumpit) will be suspended for the time being.
Meanwhile, speaking on new localities under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO), he said, several localities in Perak, Johor and Sarawak will go under lockdown from May 27 until June 9 following a spike in cases.
The localities are: in Perak – the Bagan Serai subdistrict at Kerian (63 positive cases as at May 24); in Johor – Felda Redong 1, Labis subdistrict, Segama (67 positive cases): and in Sarawak – Rumah Panjang Isa Anak Blone, Rumah Panjang Ben Anak Kuleng and SK Telok Gelam, all in Daro (12 positive cases).
Meanwhile, on the status of other areas under EMCO, Ismail said in Pahang, the EMCO affecting Ulu Lepar at the Gali subdistrict in Raub will end tomorrow, ahead of schedule.
Other EMCOs in Pahang that will end tomorrow include the lockdowns affecting five residential areas around Sungai Klau, Raub – Taman Sungai Klau, Taman Maju Sungai Klau, Taman Kelau Jaya, Taman Harmoni and Kampung Sungai Klau – and also three villages in the Tras subdistrict – Kampung Baru Tras, Kampung Sungai Cheetang and Kampung Sang Lee.
Ismail also said the EMCO affecting two localities in Sarawak, namely Rumah Panjang Dinggai, Sungai Amut Atas in Pakan, Sarikei and also at the Baleh Hydroelectric Dam construction area in Kapit, Sarawak, will both end as scheduled tomorrow.
The EMCO at Maktab Rendah Sains MARA Pengkalan Hulu, Hulu Perak, Perak will also end tomorrow.
Ismail said the health ministry has confirmed a downward trend in cases in all these localities.
On the arrests yesterday, Ismail said police arrested 694 individuals for breaching movement control order SOPs yesterday. Out of the 694, 685 were fined, eight were remanded and one was given bail.
Among the offences were for flouting physical-distancing rules (179), failure to record personal details or check in with MySejahtera (166), not wearing face mask (129), crossing state/district borders without police permission (63), failure to comply with movement control regulations (58) and others (99). - FMT
