Rosmah S Trial Police Record Statements Over Alleged Leaked Judgment
Police have recorded statements from several court officers who have access to a draft copy of court judgment in Rosmah Mansor's corruption trial, which had allegedly been leaked to a blogger.
According to a news report, Sentul district police chief Beh Eng Lai said the case is being investigated under Section 8 of the Official Secrets Act for divulging secrets, Section 203A of the Penal Code (disclosing information) and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act (publishing obscene statement).
"So far, we have recorded statements from several law officers who work at the court, whom we believe have access to the document which had allegedly been leaked.
"Further investigation is still ongoing," he said, as quoted by Utusan Malaysia.
Two days ago, the Palace of Justice lodged a police report over an article published by blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin, where he revealed the alleged written judgment of Rosmah’s (above) solar graft trial.
On his blog, Raja Petra alleged that the judgment on the case had already been written and that Rosmah would be found guilty.
Raja Petra KamarudinHe also claimed the judgment was not written by the trial judge but by an unknown person.
Beh reportedly told English daily, The Star back then that the document is merely a reference for the judge and not the final copy.
Rosmah, who is the wife of former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak, is facing three charges under Section 16(a)(A) of the MACC Act 2009.
Najib was jailed on Aug 23 after the Federal Court upheld his criminal conviction in the SRC International Sdn Bhd case and sent him to 12-year jail.
He was also ordered to pay a fine totalling RM210 million. - Mkini
