Revoke Gisbh Ceo S Datukship Ngo Urges Melaka Governor
The investigation into Nasiruddin, who was conferred the Datukship just last month, tarnished Melaka’s good name.
(FMT) – Association raises doubts over the credibility of Nasiruddin Ali, who is being investigated in connection with GISBH’s activities.
An NGO has urged Melaka governor Ali Rustam to revoke the Datukship conferred on the CEO of Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISBH), Nasiruddin Ali.
According to Berita Harian, Pertubuhan Kepimpinan Anak Bangsa Melaka raised doubts over Nasiruddin’s credibility following the police investigation into serious allegations against the company.
Its chairman, Wan Ahmad Afiq Nordin, claimed that the investigation into Nasiruddin, who was conferred the Datukship just last month, tarnished Melaka’s good name.
He said what made matters worse was Perlis mufti Asri Zainul Abidin’s declaration that GISBH promoted deviant beliefs and operated businesses in an unIslamic manner. “The people of Melaka hold the state awards in high regard as they represent the honour and integrity of the person receiving them,” he was quoted as saying.
He said a petition urging for Nasiruddin’s Datukship to be stripped had garnered more than 1,000 signatures.
Nasiruddin and 18 other members of GISBH’s top management are under remand until Sept 25 to assist in police investigations.
They are being investigated under Section 32(a) of the Child Act 2001, Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and Section 14 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants (Amendment) Act 2022.
On Sept 11, police rescued 402 children from 20 welfare homes in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan which the authorities had linked to GISBH. They also arrested 171 people, including an ustaz and a hostel warden.
According to the police, the investigations showed that at least 13 of the children were sodomised or taught to sexually assault others.
Four people linked to the company have since been charged with numerous offences, including sexual assault.
