However, Chan is also confident that Warisan's grassroots could match that of Umno among the Muslim bumiputera in the constituency
“I also believe in our coalition partner - Warisan. They have a strong base which would not be worse than Umno's,” he added
Yesterday, Bung (photo), who made his first appearance on the campaign trail, told a ceramah that Sabah Umno would mobilise its supporters to vote for PBS candidate Linda Tsen in Saturday's contest. In the last election, DAP lost the Sabah Muslim bumiputera-majority polling districts of Kampung Sim-Sim and Pulau Berhala to BN-LDP
However, it won in the other 15 Chinese-majority polling districts.
DAP is fielding Vivian Wong, who is the daughter of the late Sandakan incumbent MP Stephen Wong, who died in March
Apart from Vivian and Tsen, there are also three independent candidates Hamzah Abdullah, Sulaiman Abdul Samat and Chia Siew Yung. -Mkini
