(Bernama pic)PAPAR: The domestic trade and cost of living ministry will expand the implementation of the Rahmah sales programme (PJR) during Ramadan, covering 450 locations nationwide.
Its minister Armizan Mohd Ali said this noble effort aims to reduce the cost of living for the people and enable them to buy essential goods at lower prices, especially during Ramadan.
He said the Ramadan PJR will provide daily necessities at a discount of 10%-30% compared with the original retail price.
“Besides the sale of dry goods, the Ramadan PJR will also include the sale of other daily necessities, such as chicken, beef, fish and assorted seafood, rice and chicken eggs.
“The ingredients for the various ‘kuih raya’ will also be sold. The Ramadan PJR will be launched in Putrajaya and will start from the first day of Ramadan,” he said at the opening of the PJR in Kinarut, Sabah.
Armizan said his ministry is also working with the fisheries development authority and the federal agricultural marketing authority to stock up on produce, especially wet goods, that could be sold cheaply.
He said at least two rounds of Ramadan PJR will be held in each parliamentary constituency throughout the country.
For more information about the Ramadan PJR to be held across the country, the public can visit the domestic trade and cost of living ministry’s website.
In addition to the Ramadan PJR, the ministry also plans to organise a Ramadan bazaar programme, with details to be announced later. - FMT
