Rahmah Priced Meals From Aeon Puts Bazaar Food Fest Operators To Shame

MALAYSIANS who frequent the bazaars and food fests can all agree to the notoriously astronomical prices charged by the stall operators there.
Their excuse? The materials were premium. Rental is expensive. Or more ridiculously the sauce is homemade. The list goes on. But when there is a will, there is a way.
Recently, a netizen took the internet by storm for pointing out the Rahmah-priced nasi goreng at AEON, which were sold at only RM4.90.
“If you don’t have money by the end of the month, go find AEON,” she said, pointing out the RM9.90 chicken rice which came with a quarter chicken.
She added that AEON also has an Oden counter where a stick came with a price of RM2, although it is self service.
Shouldn’t the rent be higher in an air conditioned shopping mall? But if AEON could do it, what other excuse do these stall keepers have?

In the comment section, another netizen added that AEON gives further discounts depending on the time people went to buy those meals.

Several others, however, said the lower price was to account for the fact that it was not as fresh, or that it had been frozen first.
One netizen added that the meal will not be so cheap after all when parking is considered as well as the travel time.
Then there was ZRI. who claimed that the price of meals in AEON Japan was very consumer friendly.

One netizen further shared his meal to the online community, a plate of Nasi Bujang at a mere RM4.

“We live in a world that buying food at mall is much more cheaper than the street food. What a day to live,” said Gravity.
Prompted by the video, 아인 || Seokjinie added that he missed the AEON sushi.
In contrast, rulduff said he lived nearby AEON, and was getting bored eating the same meal again and again.
On another note, Nzm Ghani pointed out that this was actually an advertisement for ZUS Coffee since the girl in the video was wearing the ZUS uniform.

As for us, we are uncertain if this is a ZUS Coffee advertisement, but it is certainly a great advertisement for AEON. RM4.90 nasi goreng anyone? — Focus Malaysia
