Rafizi S Team Dominates Pkr Central Leadership Council
PKR leaders aligned to newly minted deputy president Rafizi Ramli have dominated the party’s central leadership council election results which were announced today at the PKR National Congress.
Of the 20 who received the most number of party delegates' votes to make it to the council, 13 of them belong to Rafizi's 'cai' or menu.
They are former PKR Youth chief Akmal Nasir, Romli Ishak, Fahmi Zainol, Nor Azrina Surip, Lee Chean Chung, Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh, Simon Ooi Tze Min, Raiyan Abdul Rahim, Tan Kar Hing, Zahir Hassan, Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik, Hans Isaac, and Wong Chen.
The other seven who were voted into the central leadership council, or MPP, are Maszlee Malik, Mohd Yahya Mat Sahri, Siti Aisyah Syed Ismail, David Cheong Kian Young, Hee Loy Sian, Amidi Abdul Manan and Elizabeth Wong.
Maszlee, who is Simpang Renggam MP, received the highest number of votes with 1,091, followed by Akmal, who is Johor Bahru MP, with 956.
A total of 73 candidates contested for the 20 available posts.
PKR held its party polls in May and saw party members generally fall behind two main factions - Rafizi and party secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail - who ran for the deputy president post.
Rafizi emerged as the winner after receiving 59,678 votes to beat Saifuddin (43,010).
However, two other important party posts - PKR Youth and Women's chiefs - were won by Adam Adli Abdul Halim and Fadhlina Sidek, who are known to be aligned with Saifuddin.
The party president post was won uncontested by Anwar Ibrahim. - Mkini
