Rafizi Gave Panadol To Cure My Headache Says Anwar
PKR president Anwar Ibrahim has described the presence of his newly minted deputy president Rafizi Ramli as a panadol to him.
Even though he is often openly criticised by Rafizi, Anwar said he is very familiar with the former Pandan MP and his capabilities.
“Rafizi gave me a panadol to cure my headache. I have known him for a long time.
“I understand there was a fierce competition but (Rafizi) is not a traitor, not a liar, not a thief and not a corrupt person.
“Focus on this. This has given me relief and made me thankful for our leadership line-up,” he said during his winding-up speech at the 16th PKR National Congress in Shah Alam today.
PKR president Anwar IbrahimRafizi reminded the new party leadership yesterday that there is no need to pander to or defend Anwar when he is criticised, to the extent of making him untouchable.
He said the most important thing for PKR to do now is to garner the rakyat’s support for the party.
“If I were Anwar, I think we have to accept a factual finding. Because if we don't do anything, it will be translated into election results. The factual finding is that he is losing popularity.
"What is important for the party and the new leadership is not really to try to physically bodek Anwar or defend Anwar. Anwar Ibrahim is Anwar Ibrahim, he doesn't need to be defended.
"What we need to do is to appeal to the people and try to win again," Rafizi had said.
PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli with president Anwar IbrahimReforms limited after 2018 polls
Meanwhile, Anwar recalled back in 2018 when Pakatan Harapan managed to overthrow BN, their reforms were limited because PKR was not leading the government.
The Port Dickson MP said he was confident that with the support of their Harapan coalition partners, the opposition would be able to overthrow Umno again in the 15th general election (GE15).
"GE15 will truly be historical. The 2018 (GE14) was historical, but our reforms were already limited.
“I met the prime minister (Dr Mahathir Mohamad) then and he made all these promises and accepted everything.
“Now, I promise that all will be done (if I become prime minister)," Anwar added. - Mkini
