Pos Malaysia Launches First Festive Cny Setem Ku Collection

Image from Pos.com.myKUALA LUMPUR: Pos Malaysia Berhad has launched its first limited edition festive Setem Ku collection in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration.
Its Channel Management and Customer Experience Group head, Azmil Othman Merican, said the ten stamps feature the celebrated Chinese zodiac, the Ox, in a simplified, polygonal art form and with Chinese calligraphy of the word 'ox'.
He said the ox's characteristics – strength, determination, diligence and dependability – inspired Pos Malaysia to feature the theme "Be Brave. Be Bold. Be Oxsome".
"The new stamp collection marks the second of a new cycle for Pos Malaysia's zodiac stamp series, as the Ox is the second animal sign in the Chinese zodiac cycle, following the Rat.
"The limited-edition Year of the Ox stamp collection is one of a kind and will be a unique and meaningful gift during the festive season. It is our sincere hope that the year of the Ox will bring everyone prosperity, peace, luck and joy," he said in a statement today.
He also said in addition to the traditional red background on stamps, backgrounds of pink, turquoise, and orange will give the overall stamp sheet a vibrant, fresh look, and highlight the distinct design features of the stamps.
"Each stamp is decorated with Chinese decorative borders alongside festive greeting messages such as "Be Oxsome" and "Stay Oxsome".
"The stamp collection would provide a symbolic and more meaningful gift to family and friends during the upcoming Chinese New Year as we celebrate the festive season in the new normal.
"Pos Malaysia wishes everyone a wonderful Chinese New Year and celebration with their loved ones and family," Azmil said.
He said Pos Malaysia is producing 2,000 pieces of folder sets and 200 Setem Ku stamp sheets for the collection, priced at RM38 and RM25 respectively.
To collect the complete set, Azmil said customers are encouraged to purchase the folder set, which consists of one stamp sheet, three pieces of souvenir covers, three pieces of postcards and a folder.
Public and stamp collectors can purchase the Setem Ku collection beginning Feb 9 on Pos Malaysia's e-commerce website at www.pos.com.my/shop and Feb 10 at 13 General Post Offices nationwide.
He added that stamp collectors and the public may sign-up for the Standing Order Deposit Accounts (SODA) to experience a hassle-free process in purchasing the latest stamp issues, as well as enjoying exclusive benefits offered by SODA.
