Pn Stands For Penyelamat Negara Hamzah

The Perikatan Nasional government formed in March is not just a political coalition, but according to Bersatu secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin, it is also a saviour of the country
Speaking as the Bersatu representative at the Sabah PN gathering today, he said Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin had saved the country amid the Covid-19 pandemic
“‘P’ is for penyelamat, ‘N’ is for ‘negara’. The penyelamat negara (saviour of the nation) is Muhyiddin who now leads us as prime minister
“Since there is a saviour, God willing we will overcome the Covid-19 pandemic through sincerity and honesty
“With the support of ministers, irrespective of whether they are from the peninsula, Sabah, or Sarawak, we will succeed,” he said at the Sabah International Convention Centre in Kota Kinabalu
Also present at the gathering are Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku president Jeffrey Kitingan, Parti Maju Sabah president Yong Teck Lee, Sabah Bersatu chairperson Hajiji Mohd Noor and PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan
In his speech, Hamzah vowed that a new government will take over Sabah on Sept 26
In an apparent reference to the Philippines, he said PN will defend the state from any foreign claims
“We will defend this state from claims by anyone abroad. This is a dignified country
“This is a successful country, not just in defending its borders all this while but it has also shown to the world that no matter what obstacles we face, we will overcome
“Believe it that it is PN that will defend the people in this country and in this state,” he said
‘Equal partnership, mutual respect’Meanwhile, Kitingan in his speech urged for Sabahans to be given a fair go. He said his party wants an equal partnership and to be respected in PN
“I want to express what I’ve heard from the people, and the people want fairness, equality, and respect for elected representatives in Sabah
“I believe it. For the first time, I believe the leadership in Kuala Lumpur today is fair and respects Sabahans’ rights
“That’s why I support PN and we all support PN,” he said
Kitingan said he believes PN has helped the people, which is evident in the country’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic
“So, I believe the present government will be supported by the people and will win the coming election
“But at the same time, we have to see it. We want cooperation as an equal partner, mutual respect. We don’t want to be controlled, colonised
“We believe the government is not like the governments that came before. Forget the past. We are now in a new era, the Perikatan Nasional era,” he said
The state election will be held on Sept 26, while nomination day falls on Saturday. - Mkini
