Pkr Info Chief Azmin S Meeting A Betrayal Of Malaysian S Trust In Pakatan
Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali’s meeting with Barisan Nasional and PKR MPs shortly after Pakatan Harapan’s disastrous defeat at the Tanjung Piai by-election is akin to betraying the trust of Malaysians, says PKR information chief Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin (pic).
“I believe that if it doesn’t hurt Malaysians, then the most suitable word is betraying the trust that Malaysians gave.
“If such a meeting happened a day after Pakatan’s horrible defeat, it also gives a negative image to Pakatan and the people, ” he told reporters when met at the Parliament lobby on Tuesday (Nov 19).
Shamsul said Malaysians were free to judge for themselves the meeting between the PKR deputy president and Economic Affairs Minister with 22 Barisan and PKR MPs on Monday (Nov 18).
“A day after being defeated terribly at the Tanjung Piai by-election, here we have a Pakatan vice-president (Azmin) who met with Umno’s leadership, ” said Shamsul, without mincing his words.
Shamsul also said he was not invited to the said meeting, which took place at Azmin’s official residence in Presint 10, Putrajaya.
“I was not invited, but we are not sure whether the list contained the correct names of those who attended because it was made viral.”
Among those who met at Azmin’s official residence were former Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin, Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Kamaruddin Jaffar, and Cameron Highlands MP Ramli Mohd Noor.
Hishammuddin has since denied masterminding the meeting at Azmin’s official residence, saying that he was ready to be investigated by Umno’s disciplinary board.
Last Saturday, Pakatan was unexpectedly defeated by Barisan in the Tanjung Piai by-election with a huge 15,086 majority.
