Apart from asking him to reveal when the sale of the land, which belonged to the Perak State Development Corporation (PKNP), took place, PH called on Saarani to disclose who it was sold to and the size of the land.
“As PKNP chairman, the menteri besar is responsible for explaining the sale of the land, if there indeed was a sale,” said PH in a statement.
It also asked Saarani to disclose the minutes of the meeting in which the decision was made to sell the land, the sales and purchase agreement, and the consultant appointed to negotiate the sale.
The statement was signed by Perak PH chief Mujahid Yusof Rawa, state Amanah chief Asmuni Awi, state DAP chief Nga Kor Ming and state PKR interim chairman Dr Lee Boon Chye.
On Tuesday, four state executive council members in the previous PH government in Perak, including Asmuni, called on the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to investigate the sale of the 188-hectare land belonging to PKNP to a private company.
They claimed the matter was never discussed at the state executive council or PNKP board meetings during the PH administration.
Perak MACC chief Fauzi Mohamad said yesterday the agency had launched an investigation into the matter. - FMT
