Perak Mb Urged To Spill Tea On Airport Land Being Sold Under Harapan
Perak Menteri Besar Saarani Mohamad has been urged to give more details regarding the state GLC-owned land earmarked for an airport being sold off purportedly during Pakatan Harapan's time in power.
Perak Harapan wants Saarani to inform the public of details such as when the sale was made and to whom the land in Seri Iskandar was sold to.
They also want the menteri besar to disclose which menteri besar was in power when the land was first acquired by the Perak State Development Corporation and why a decision was made to sell it off.
Saarani was also urged to disclose meeting minutes regarding the sale, the finalisation of the transaction, the sales and purchase agreement, terms for sale, as well as the consultant for the sale.
The demands were made in a statement signed by Perak Harapan chief Mujahid Yusof Rawa and the state chiefs for Amanah (Asmuni Awi), DAP (Nga Kor Ming), and PKR (Dr Lee Boon Chye).
Nga had raised the issue on the Seri Iskandar land sale in the state assembly last week, alleging it had been sold off without approval from the state government.
Saarani later alleged that the sale had occurred during Harapan's time in charge of Perak.
However, Asmuni - who was an exco member - said the Harapan state government then had never discussed selling off the Seri Iskandar land.
Reports have been lodged with the police and the MACC over the matter.
Saarani has said he would leave the matter to the authorities and that he would leave it up to the Perak Tengah District Council to cancel the planning approval for the land.
Keranji assemblyperson Chong Zhemin, however, said the menteri besar should not wash his hands clean of the matter, and actually has authority to cancel the planning approval as well. - Mkini
