Pbm Zuraida Not A Member Bersatu S Gripe With Her An Internal Matter
New political outfit Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) today maintained that Bersatu's Zuraida Kamaruddin is not on its membership list and will leave the latter to settle their own gripes.
This comes after Bersatu's top leadership reportedly discussed sacking Zuraida over her alleged link to PBM, which was formed late last year by figures known to be aligned with her.
PBM sponsor secretary-general Nor Hizwan Ahmad (above) said that to date, the party has not received any application from Zuraida to join them.
"We have just concluded our supreme council meeting, and so far, Zuraida's name was not in the list of those applying to be PBM members," he told Malaysiakini when contacted earlier today.
"I do not see the need for us to interfere in Bersatu's internal affairs. Let them settle the issue between them," added Nor Hizwan, who is also a former Bersatu member.
It was reported today that Bersatu supreme council in its latest meeting on Jan 25 had discussed at length whether to sack Zuraida over her alleged involvement with PBM.
Supreme council member Muhammad Faiz Na'aman had told Malaysiakini that the issue came about as Zuraida, who is plantation industries and commodities minister, was seen to have involvement in the forming of PBM, either directly or indirectly.
Bersatu leader and minister Zuraida KamaruddinNor Hizwan, who is Zuraida's former political secretary, however, sidestepped a question when pressed about Zuraida's alleged involvement in forming PBM.
"That will remain as an allegation," he said, adding that those leading PBM at this juncture "are more than capable to administer and carry on with the party agenda".
According to him, the party is open to accepting anyone into the party.
This is as long as they share the party's objectives which they referred to as "The Great Reset 2030" agenda.
"We have no problem for any Malaysian citizen of age 18 and above to join PBM. Any application will be discussed by the party's supreme council and politics bureau for approval," he said.
Govt positions
Faiz also recently called out former party members to relinquish government positions that they got on Bersatu's tickets.
Malaysiakini asked Nor Hizwan to comment on the remarks, as he is the chief executive officer of the Malaysian Rubber Council, an agency under Zuraida's ministry.
On this, he said that the post he is holding is not a political appointment.
"I don't think that I was appointed (to MRC) because I was a member of Bersatu.
"And CEO is an administrative post, not a political appointment," he said. - Mkini
