Pas Veep Says Not Difficult To Be Pm If One Has The Right Team

PAS MUKTAMAR | A PAS vice president today likened the act of becoming a prime minister to being a homeowner, saying neither role is difficult with the right vision and assistance from a capable team.
Nik Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah, who is also the Kelantan deputy menteri besar pointed to the current administrations of three PAS-led states - Kelantan, Terengganu, and Kedah.
“They had no experience but with the right policies and visions, they can lead. Because there are people saying PAS can't govern Malaysia.
“I always say, it is not difficult to be a prime minister, a prime minister is like a landlord,” he said in a speech to officiate the PAS non-Muslim supporters wing (DHPP) gathering in Sungai Petani, Kedah, today.
“A homeowner has money but he will not be building his own house.
“No one builds their own house, they will call an architect to design the plan. Once the design is completed, the architect will call a contractor and others.
“Finally, a house will be completed without the owner actually building it,” he described.
In the context of PAS, Mohd Amar (above) insisted that the party has the “best vision” for Malaysia if given a chance to lead the federal government.
He said this in urging DHPP members to help counter an allegedly negative perception of PAS among non-Muslim voters, including in Kelantan.
‘Lee Kuan Yew assured by PAS’
Earlier in his speech, Mohd Amar recalled a three-day visit by Singapore's first prime minister, the late Lee Kuan Yew, to Kelantan.
He said there was a meeting between Lee and then Kelantan menteri besar, the late Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, who was also PAS’ spiritual advisor at the time.

“If he (Lee) is still alive today, maybe he will vote for PAS or join DHPP,” Mohd Amar quipped.
The DHPP was formed in 2010 as PAS’ response to its then-growing influence among the non-Malays. - Mkini
