Pas Mps Are Resolute Tuan Ibrahim Says Amid Defections In Bersatu
PAS MPs will remain loyal to the party and its leadership despite recent “defections” in its ally party Bersatu, said its deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.
Tuan Ibrahim, when met at the Parliament today, expressed confidence that parliamentarians of the Islamist party will not shift their support to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
This came after three Bersatu MPs pledged their support for Anwar’s administration, citing constituency interests in aligning with the prime minister.
“If you want to say it’s been tough, it’s not really a financial matter.
“Compared to what we have received and the people’s needs, I think dignity is more important,” he told reporters.

‘Leave it to Bersatu’
Meanwhile, Tuan Ibrahim said PAS has spoken to Bersatu on the matter and is confident that the party led by Muhyiddin Yassin will manage it.
“There were several actions taken by Bersatu on its MPs, some were suspended from their membership and all.
“They are Bersatu representatives, so it’s a membership issue, we will leave it to Bersatu (to handle the matter),” he said.
Bersatu secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin recently announced that both Iskandar and Suhaili had been suspended from the party, for four years and six years respectively, by the party’s disciplinary board committee.
