Pas Bersatu Ties Remain Strong Says Annuar Musa
The PAS leader says claims of a rift between the two major PN component parties are coming from outsiders.

Annuar said such claims were merely the interpretation that outsiders were making of a proposal to strengthen Perikatan Nasional’s leadership structure.
PAS and Bersatu are the major partners in PN, which also comprises smaller parties.
“Honestly, PAS has a far more harmonious relationship with each PN component, compared to the other coalitions out there,” he said, according to Utusan Malaysia.
PAS has reportedly proposed an overhaul of PN’s leadership lineup, Bersatu deputy president Hamzah Zainudin, the parliamentary opposition leader, to be given “operational powers” under an executive committee he chairs.
PN’s chairman is Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin.
The proposal was said to be aimed at paving the way for Hamzah to eventually take over leadership of PN before the next general election.
Annuar said PN’s Supreme Council has agreed to form a committee comprising five leaders from each component, which would then come up with suggestions to bolster the opposition coalition.
“To me, this is a healthy development as we face pragmatic political shifts.”
Separately, Utusan Malaysia quoted Hamzah earlier today as dismissing rumours that he was making moves to replace Muhyiddin as Bersatu president. He labelled such speculation as “nonsensical stories” coming from external parties who want to sow discord between Bersatu and PN. - FMT
