Pas Banks On Green Wave To Win 30 Selangor Seats

And the Islamic party has informed its fellow Perikatan Nasional component, Bersatu, of this target.
“I have instructed my secretary to start discussing the matter with his Bersatu counterpart.
“We should be able to settle it as soon as possible because we expect the state polls to be held in May after the Aidilfitri festivities,” he told FMT.
Yunus is assemblyman for Sijangkang, the sole PAS seat among the 56 seats in the Selangor state assembly.
Bersatu holds four seats: Bukit Antarabangsa (Azmin Ali), Gombak Setia (Hilman Idham), Selat Klang (Abdul Rashid Asari) and Dengkil (Adhif Syan Abdullah).
Yunus said PAS could not deny that the rapport between the state government and Putrajaya would be a factor voters would consider.
The Selangor state government is controlled by Pakatan Harapan, which also forms the federal government in partnership with Barisan Nasional and other parties.
However, it was still too early to tell if PH had a strong chance of retaining power in Selangor, he said.
“The grassroots sentiment towards the current government is not that great,” he said, referring to several of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s actions that have led to criticism for being against the principles of institutional reforms which he had previously championed. - FMT
