Pakistan Crawls Back Into Deeper Hole
It has been a year since Imran Khan became the new Prime Minister of Pakistan. There was much hope, much expectation in the air. A year down the road, the Pakistani rupee has collapsed another 25%. The economy is not really moving forward. Here is The Star :

My comments : Pakistan's biggest asset is its population. 200 million people. Imagine if they can make a world class car? They have a 200 million strong market. Or a motorcycle?
Pakistan is an 'islamic' country. This means they are doomed. That is already proven. The question is will they be doomed forever? Or can they crawl out of it?
It takes time to crawl out of the doom.
Mustafa Kamal Ataturk put an end to the 'islamic' state and declared Turkey a republic circa 1923. It took Turkey about 30 years after that to join NATO - meaning Turkey had achieved some military parity with the modern West.
But the Turkish per capita GDP is still far behind Europe. The Turkish per capita GDP is US 9,631 (at end 2018).
Greece, the sick man of Europe, has twice the per capita GDP at US18,613.In Germany (where over two million Turks have migrated) the per capita GDP is US44,469.
So Turkey is still catching up with the West - even a hundred years after Mustafa Kamal Ataturk freed Turkey of its self inflicted hand cuffs and blindfolds. (And now Turkey is sliding back.)
So if Pakistan does a Mustafa Kamal NOW, maybe by 2119 Pakistan will be a better place? Really cant say.
I dont think education, technology or even democracy is going to help Pakistan much (or the other Islamic countries).
They must become modern. Their thinking processes must become scientific.Scientific thinking means using common sense, logic, evidence (show some proof lah for what you believe.)
In Pakistan (and India) rich landowners, who own thousands of acres with entire villagers living and working for them, pay money to school teachers NOT to teach the village kids. The rich want to keep the villagers dumb and stupid.
This is also happening in Malaysia - using a different method. It is called sekolah kebangsaan.Posted by Syed Akbar Ali
