Pahang Tengku Muda S Son Cop Charged With Assaulting Labourer

A nephew to the Pahang sultan was among five accused of assaulting road construction worker Alias Awang.
The attack on Alias was first highlighted by Malaysiakini on Sept 5, and had previously caught the attention of Pahang Crown Prince Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah who demanded that the father of eight be given justice.
Tengku Eddie Akasya Tengku Abd Rahman, 20; Nik Norisham Affendi NiK Mohd Zani, 39; Mohd Fouzi Md Nur, 44; Mohd Taufik Daud, 32; and Khairul Azhar Rosli, 38, were accused of intentionally injuring Alias on his right thigh with a knife.
Bernama identified Fouzi as a police officer.
They were charged under Section 324 of the Penal Code - which is punishable with up to 10 years in jail, a fine or caning, or both.
Tengku Eddie Akasya (above) is the son of Tengku Abdul Rahman Sultan Ahmad Shah, who is Tengku Muda of Pahang.
Tengku Abdul Rahman is Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah’s younger brother.
The defendants are accused of committing the attack at a stable in Jalan Teluk Sisek in Kuantan on June 6.
Bail was set at RM7,000 each, with case re-mention set for Dec 11.
Alias AwangAlias had said he went to the alleged scene of the incident after receiving a phone call from an individual, who is believed to be linked to the royalty, to meet him there.
He claimed he was then attacked by around 20 people, including “the son of the son of the Tengku (a royal title)”, who also shot at his leg and missed. Alias was then stabbed in the thigh.
He lodged a police report over the matter on June 8. - Mkini
