Open Letter To Tun M The Sands Of Time Have Run Out On Your Ambition Let The Madani Boys Steer Ship Of State

Dear Sir,
YOU held the post of prime minister for a total of 24 years – including your brief comeback – and yet politics is still boiling in your blood. You still feel the irrepressible urge to return to the national stage.
You cannot stop politicking, can you? Now, let’s diagnose what is really troubling you. There must be something niggling at your mind that’s causing you so much unease.
On closer examination we discovered this virus that is wreaking havoc on you. We have no name for this infectious agent but we know it’s quite common among politicians, especially those who couldn’t take it once they lost their grip on power.

We can see you are bitter and sore over many things but you feel powerless, dismayed, outraged, frustrated and resentful because there’s nothing you could do to change the course of history.
You keep running down the government of the day by seeing nothing good in all its policies and actions. Every remark you make is always tinged with the ominous colours of racism and religion.

Oh, yes you feel very geram (angry) because you simply cannot see this man at the helm of the Madani government. You even went so far as to say he could never become Prime Minister. Such is your great animus you harbour toward him.
But your nemesis is now the most powerful man in the country and there’s no way you can topple him from his throne.
Do you feel threatened that you and your family members might one day be in big trouble as long as this Madani guy is around?

You are still scheming day and night to bring down your one-time deputy, aren’t you? The virus is spreading all kinds of wild dreams, even planting the seeds of hope that you might return to Putrajaya for a third time.
How you wish you can make another comeback! Maybe, you can pull out another trick out of your old medical bag and presto! You find yourself in the saddle once again.
Even at your great age, you probably are eyeing the 16th General Election (16GE), hoping against hope that you can lead another charge into the battlefield.
Maybe, you can perform another miracle and be declared the oldest PM in the world for a second time running.
Oh man, one can imagine you sitting at your old desk furiously signing off one executive order after another, all meant to dismantle every last vestige of the Madani regime.

But with due respect, Tun, the sands of time have run out on your ambition. Be realistic. Look over your shoulder. No one is following you. You belong to the past and you can never reclaim your crown.
Doctor, heal yourself. Do some deep soul-searching. Get rid of the virus and get on with your life. Let the Madani boys steer the ship of state and let them answer for whatever wrongs they may commit.
