The nurse, 29, claimed she was harassed by the 60-year-old man while caring for the patient in the Intensive Care Unit.
The man allegedly made salacious remarks to the nurse while she was carrying out a medical procedure on him.
As a result, the nurse lodged a report at the Melaka Tengah police station.
A copy of the police report went viral on social media.
Based on the police report, the nurse was taking blood from the patient when he uttered lewd and unsavoury remarks.
It is understood that the man initially received a phone call believed to be from him wife. He turned on the speaker phone for the conversation.
The caller had asked him what he was doing, to which he replied with lewd remarks.
His sexually-suggestive remarks left the nurse in a panick state as she was alone in the room with the patient.
Shortly after ending the call, the man then asked the nurse to look at the size of a new urine catheter, and asked her to place it on him.
Disturbed by the tone of his request and his earlier lewd remarks, the nurse declined and asked him to do it himself before leaving the room. She then informed the hospital management of the incident.
The hospital management instructed her to lodge a police report as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, state police Criminal Investigation Department chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Nor Yhazid Idris, confirmed receiving the report and said an investigation was being carried out.
State health director Datuk Dr Ismail Ali in a statement said the authorities were aware of the incident. He said an internal investigation was being comprehensively conducted and that the health authorities would give its full cooperation in the probe. - NST
