No These Niqab Clad Ladies Aren T Pas Women S Brigade But They Spark Hilarity Marching In Heels
MARCH we must but fashion and modesty must always be tended to. This seems to be the sentiment that greeted a brief video clip shared on human rights activist and lawyer Siti Kasim on her Facebook page.
The recording shows a group of women – well, they are presumed female as they are completely covered in niqab – taking part in what appears to be a marching formation.
Nobody knows for sure whether this is a cadet corp or a militant group as the origin of the clip is unknown.
Exclaiming confusion, even the Orang Asli advocate seemed to be at a loss for words as to the point of the exercise: “OMG… WTF IS THIS… ”
This sense of bewilderment was also reflected in readers’ reaction which has fetched 4.6K likes, 1.4K comments and 537 shares at the time of writing with more than a few highlighting that the women seemed to have got their priorities wrong by wearing heels instead of army boots.
Or perhaps they must always look sharp by remaining stylish!

Some commenters just wondered which conflict they would be engaged in dressed like they were going for a fashion show rather than a battlefield.

One commenter noted that despite their fancy clothes, the marching was very much synchronised and on-point.

One surmised that this was a new battalion unit formed to combat supernatural forces.

Amid the scorching tropical heat, one commenter lamented the lack of commonsense as these ladies risked getting sunstroke.

Editor’s Note: Actually, their dress sense protects them well from direct sunlight though they may be in danger of a heatstroke where internal body temperature rises to dangerous levels.
Of course, there were some who were uneasy at the display of militant high fashion, thus urging the local cops in the shape of PDRM (Royal Malaysia Police) to investigate. But a few commenters seem to suggest that this ‘fashion parade’ took place in neighbouring Indonesia.

One particular commenter, though, questioned Siti Kasim’s intention in posting the video. Was it to mock the religion and invite non-Muslims to a bashing session, he pointedly asked.
He further chided the legal eagle for thinking “she is wiser than the uztaz (religious teacher)”.

One commenter put things in perspective by defending this exercise as a good team building exercise given marching is often included in school extra-curricular itineraries as it improves discipline.
It was also pointed out that the marching style would indicate that this video was filmed abroad.

Whichever the location, the ladies in the video must be commended for their synchronised efforts despite the choice of heeled footwear. Furthermore, their dress sense featuring appropriate shades of pastel green were matching their tropical surroundings.
