No Payment Yet For Mysejahtera App Developers
Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that criticism of the MySejahtera was inaccurate, although there have been many complaints of glitches in appointments to “missing” digital vaccine certificates.PETALING JAYA: The government is in the midst of finalising the method and details of payments for the MySejahtera application developers after its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) model ceased on March 31, said Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
In a reply to Lanang MP Alice Lau, who had asked Ismail in Parliament how much the app cost, the prime minister said no payment has been made to the developers yet.
“However, in line with the importance of MySejahtera as a national app in Covid-19 management that may be upgraded, the government has decided to make payments beginning April 1.”
He said evaluation for the payments are being led by the Malaysian administrative modernisation and management planning unit (Mampu).
Discussions also include the health ministry, the private public partnership unit (Ukas), the communications and multimedia ministry, the national cyber security agency (Nacsa) and the National Security Council (MKN).
He said similar to other government procurements, the contractors must comply with the Service Level Agreement (SLA).
Ismail also said that, considering the benefits of the app, criticism that the MySejahtera application still has many technical problems with sub-par service is inaccurate. He said the app has seen constant improvements since it was first made available to the public.
The MySejahtera app is developed by local company KPISoft. The founders of the company include Malaysians Anuar Rozhan and Raveenderan Ramamoothie, the two main shareholders.
The app service providers have come under fire multiple times with many users voicing their dissatisfaction, from multiple instances of glitches in vaccine appointments to “missing” MySejahtera digital vaccine certificates for individuals who are fully-vaccinated. - FMT
