Next Green Tsunami Will Be Rafizi S Fault Sanusi Warns After Pn Racism Charge

Kedah Perikatan Nasional chief Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor has warned that another "green tsunami" will hit the nation during the upcoming six state elections, and that it would mainly be PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli's fault.
He said this in response to Rafizi's claim that the surge in support for PN during the 15th general election was due to racist rhetoric and money politics.
Rafizi (above, left) had claimed in a dialogue with Penang and Kedah PKR members last night that this had led to a 70-80 percent swing in Malay voters in Kedah.
“PN fired up racial extremism to cause a swing that huge. This worries me more.
"The Malay voting pattern used to be balanced. Last time, the margins were narrow. For the first time, it is this wide. We need to beat this dangerous trend.
“We don’t have a silver bullet or magic pill to win. Some of us have to admit it is because of our weaknesses,” he was quoted as saying by FMT.
The economy minister also dismissed that PN's gains were due to an effective campaign on Tiktok.
“It is the money factor, not TikTok. In my hometown in Terengganu, I’ve heard stories of people asking for money everywhere they went. There were also kenduri (feasts) everywhere. These are the factors that influenced PN’s win,” Rafizi said.
However, he said money-driven campaigns are not sustainable, and that he expected PAS to begin collecting donations again.
Sanusi denies money politics
Responding to the allegations, Sanusi today accused Rafizi of being sanctimonious and belittling voters by assuming they were "not intelligent" and naive.
The PAS election director denied that those who rejected Pakatan Harapan and BN were influenced by money or lavish dinners.
He added that PAS did not have tycoons sponsoring them to the point they can afford helicopter rides like a US presidential candidate - an apparent jab at Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim who had at one point travelled by helicopter during the campaign period.
Sanusi also poked at Rafizi for being partners with the "king of money politics" in reference to Harapan and BN being in government together.
Sanusi then warned that Rafizi - as well as the government's failure to manage the cost of goods such as petrol, eggs, and chickens - might end up triggering a bigger green tsunami.
"The 'Malay green tsunami' from GE15 will keep growing day by day every time Rafizi opens his big mouth.
"Rafizi will be the main reason Harapan and BN will be punished during the six state elections and GE16.
"They (Harapan and BN) are being laughed at, but they don't realise it," he said.
The green tsunami saw PN make major gains throughout the peninsula, particularly in the north and east.
They won all Parliament seats in Kelantan, Terengganu, and Perlis - the latter of which also saw BN losing the state government.
PN also controls 14 out of 15 Kedah Parliament seats.
Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu are among the six states that have yet to hold state elections.
The other three states are Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, and Penang.
Harapan and BN are considering joining forces in the state polls in an attempt to stem the PN wave. - Mkini
