New Govt Prophecies No Dap Please
NEWS and rumors about the possibility of BN, notably UMNO together with PAS are poised to join the Cabinet prompted me to pen a few thoughts that might add substance to existing talks. Something brewing, and I suppose the Prime Minister Dr Mahathir is already drawing up a plan for it.
Possibilities and probabilities!
Well, a government without DAP, maybe? Since the Chinese-based party is said to have given Dr M a lot of headache lately and sometimes even running their respective portfolios to their whim and fancy, I believe the premier is left to no choice but to align himself with the Opposition pact, especially UMNO.
Pakatan Harapan is facing the wrath of the people which was translated into 'protest vote' in the last 5 by-elections, namely Cameron Highlands, Semenyih, Rantau, Tanjung Piai and Kimanis. The voting trend suggests how their everyday's life is much affected by the lies and economic doldrums befalling them.
I dont have the exact figure of how much DAP has gone against the standards of running a government in a multiracial and multi-religious nation but one thing for sure is, the damage is so extensive since PH took over 20 months ago.
Are they dictating Putrajaya? Many said yes. This means Dr M has no total control of the policy. All he has is an extra political card in the form of an ace. DAP is all over him, so to say. Just read some DAP statements of late, they were against almost anything against the rights of the Malays, the Rulers, 'jawi', land deals and most of all questioning the Constitution.
Their demand for UEC to be recognised and the fact that vernacular schools got more budget, Chin Peng issue and Chinese character applied to government official letters, speak out aloud on who DAP actually is. Dr M has watched and observed.
So, what is Zahid Hamidi and Hadi Awang waiting for? Being presidents of UMNO and PAS respectively, they are ready, I guess. However, are the members willing to accept such an opening when they are against it?
I have this to tell all UMNO members. UMNO can wait until the next general election (could be in 2022 or 2023). No doubt about it. Since Muafakat Nasional is making waves in the country, GE15 could be theirs.
However, are we willing to wait for 2023 when there's nothing more to offer to the people, especially when the damage caused by DAP is beyond repair? Can we just sit tight and allow it to happen before our very own eyes?
The country is being dictated by them, not PKR, not Bersatu and others. I am not belittling DAP but they put their pride and vested-interest too high to an extend that they don't care about others' sentiments, especially the Malays and most Malaysians.
Malaysia is being managed a la communist politburo. Everything is Chinese-centric implementation. They claimed of being new in the government but compared with other parties worldwide that took a couple of months to learn and introduce good policies, DAP keeps harping on its 'new kid on the block' excuse and blame game over the previous government.
Dr M has made right and wrong move. Right to have DAP MPs as the right number to oust BN in the 14th general elections on grounds of wanting to dispose Najib Razak; and wrong for picking DAP (once his strongest nemesis) into a political pact. He was seen as being very successful in the first step but plunges into trouble in the second.
Many UMNO members are against the political formation but I think we cannot wait that long. The economic looting by DAP and the selling spree of entities of national interest are calling for Dr M to consider the cooperation within Pakatan Harapan.
It might happen and it might not but for UMNO members, they have options whether all these people's sufferings be put to an end right now or just wait for the next general election, and if they win. UMNO and PAS are not beggars but if not now, they can forget whatever deals after this.
Of course UMNO has to draw a line. Only to join Dr M and not Anwar Ibrahim who will not leave out DAP. Zahid cannot please everybody but he can bring back glory to the people by having a voice in the government. Not for him, not for his court cases and not for factional interest. Its all for the people, the religion, Constitution, the Rulers, the masses and the country.
Should it materialise, Zahid may find that it will not be a popular decision by UMNO members but for the sake of the people and the country's future, a step must taken now. No more tossing the dice around. Hadi too, and probably Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah.
Sometimes opportunity struck only once. If we don't grab it now, there might be no recurrence.
DAP can choose partners to become Opposition again, the best role for them. They have failed the rakyat and the nation. Almost all economic figures and indexes are of their own, not based on professional and international standards.
Muafakat Nasional is based on the people's voice, not by virtue of political gain. If MN is to join the government, just ensure that it is with the old man minus DAP!
I wanna write more but let's wait for some developments first...
