Nasrudin Malaysia Will Become Like Afghanistan Under Pas Umno Rule No Way

PETALING JAYA: PAS has condemned DAP for scaring non-Muslims into believing that Malaysia would be under Taliban-like rule, if the Islamist party and Umno came to power in the next general election
PAS information chief Nasrudin Hassan (pic) dismissed as baseless the claim by Perak DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming, that Malaysia would be like Taliban-controlled Afghanistan if the Islamist party joined forces with Umno and succeeded in wresting control of the country from Pakatan Harapan in the next polls
Nga’s comment came days after DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng claimed that Umno and PAS were now targeting non-Muslims and non-Malays
Nga had during a recent event in Taiping claimed that an Umno-PAS collaboration would turn Malaysia into a country like Afghanistan, which is controlled by Taliban if they succeeded in forming the government, and dividing the rakyat.
“We call upon the rakyat to see for themselves DAP’s vengeance and hatred against initiative to unite the ummah to the point of labelling with negative connotations to instil fear among the multi-racial community in this country,” he said in his Facebook post on Monday (March 11).
Nasrudin called on Lim and Nga to visit Kelantan, Terengganu, Perlis and Pahang to see how people lived in states under PAS and Umno governance.“In fact, when PAS was part of the (Pakatan Rakyat) state government in Selangor from 2008 to 2018, we had never been cruel to those from different ethnic and religious background,” he said
Umno and PAS had agreed to work together to protect the interests of Muslims post GE14
“This collaboration is aimed at uniting the Muslims without undermining other ethnic groups and religious beliefs, as enshrined in the Federal Constitution,” he said
Nasrudin said stability, peace and harmony should be safeguarded for the country to remain on track towards progress.- Star
