Najib Why Should I Entertain Chef Wan
CAMERON POLLS | Najib Abdul Razak has refused to entertain popular chef Redzuawan Ismail, better known as Chef Wan, who said he wanted to slap the former prime minister for claiming that Felda saw its "golden age" under his government
"That's Chef Wan, why for should I entertain Chef Wan," he told journalists after a get-together with youths at a cafe in Kuala Lumpur this evening
Chef Wan had taken issue with Najib's visit to his home village of Felda Sungai Koyan where he boasted about the BN contributions ahead of the Cameron Highlands by-election
“Yes, it was a better life when you gave the Felda people all sorts of things, but the next day you stole from us until the agency went bankrupt," he had said
Earlier, Najib repeated that Felda settlers were now facing hardship under Harapan
"Now there are Felda settlers who made as little as RM74 last month in Sungai Koyan, some are even lower. How are they going to live like that?" he said
Najib also defended the aid given to Felda settlers under his government, stressing that they were not a form of corruption
On a separate matter, Najib said there was nothing wrong with the dancing at the opening of the Legal Year 2019 event, which had generated controversy
The issue, he said, was the concerns of separation of powers as Chief Justice Richard Malanjum was dancing with the attorney-general Tommy Thomas and other private lawyers
"Last time when (former attorney-general) Mohamed Apandi Ali did that, he was criticised. So if we apply the same standards, why are they (Pakatan Harapan) keeping silent now?" he said. - Mkini
