Mukhriz S Daughter Slams Anti Icerd Rally Participants Says They Are A Disappointment
(The Star) – The daughter of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia deputy president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir has slammed the participants at the anti-Icerd (International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination) rally.
Melia Serena posted a picture on Instagram Stories with the caption: “Disgusting. Take all offence, I don’t care. Extremely disappointing.”
She also said that Vision 2020 was gone because of “all of you”.
In another Instagram Stories post, Melia who seemed to be responding to those who had sent her direct messages due to her earlier post slamming the anti-Icerd protesters, said it was disappointing to see how people from her own race could be so “hateful, discriminating and be such bullies”.
“One thing they don’t agree on, they’d immediately stalk you and say the most hurtful things just because they are triggered and bothered.
“If you think commenting negative stuff would make me regret what I said or make me feel bad about myself, you’re fooling yourself really. I’m really just chillin,” she said.
On Saturday (Dec 8), a rally was held to celebrate the government’s decision not to ratify the United Nations convention.
Opposition leaders were present at the rally including former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang.
The government had decided not to ratify Icerd amid rising protests by opponents who claimed that the United Nations human rights agreement would jeopardise the special rights of Malays and bumiputras in the country.
