Muar Umno Youth Denies Involvement In Muda Ceramah Heckling

Muar Umno Youth has dismissed allegations that it was involved in a commotion at Muda’s ‘Mega Muar’ ceramah last night.
This comes after incumbent Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman’s team accused Umno of being behind the group of 20 youths that attempted to disrupt his speech.
Muar Umno Youth chief Helmy Abdul Latif, however, said he gave no instruction to instigate the commotion and rejected all forms of provocation in politics.
“Whether (the rowdy group) was paid or not, this is an unhealthy practice in politics.
“The political stage should be celebrated openly, we should be dignified human beings.
”If we want to lawan (fight), do it with the right ideologies. We take the country to a better direction,” he tweeted, adding that the party wing had no time to commit such acts.
Last night, a group of youngsters showed up at the Muda event on motorcycles, instigating a shouting match between them and Muda supporters.
Muda founder Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul RahmanSome members had accused Syed Saddiq of being a “penipu” (liar) during his speech, as he talked about his contributions to his Muar constituents in the past term.
This caused Muda supporters and volunteers at the ceramah to shout at them to “balik” (go back).
Despite auxiliary police telling them to leave the area, the youths lingered at the scene and revved up their motorcycles to induce further noise.
Lodging police report
Muda deputy president Amira Aisya Abdul Aziz said the party will file a police report over the incident.

“Those who reject dirty politics must make a police report and share the viral pictures and videos of the incident.
“Don’t make the excuse that you don’t recognise who did it. We have proof,” Amira added. - Mkini
