Motherless Chicks Roam Putrajaya Ku Nan S Caution To Voters

For close to two decades, Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor was indomitable in Putrajaya. However, the veteran politician tasted defeat in the last general election, falling to Perikatan Nasional’s Radzi Jidin in a multi-cornered battle.
The seat, which encompasses the federal administrative capital, was regarded as a safe deposit for the government.
More than seven months later, Tengku Adnan (above) claimed his former constituents were left without effective representation and criticised his opponent for “churning out excuses”.
Based on this, the Umno treasurer cautioned voters in the upcoming election for six states not to repeat the mistake.
Putrajaya MP Radzi JidinTengku Adnan claimed that those in Putrajaya are like “chicks which have lost their mother” and do not know where to turn to.
The former federal territories minister, popularly known as Ku Nan, said this is the repercussion of making the wrong choice in the polls.
“Putrajaya is a good example. Before the general election, we heard numerous stories (from his opponent) including (talk of a) ‘new era for Putrajaya’.
“But what new era is there? I don’t know. Because I have not seen any new era.
“But we know that countless excuses are given. When the people want to meet with the MP for Putrajaya, the excuse from his officer is ‘go to the Umno service centre in Presint 15’… This is what is happening,” he was quoted as saying by Umno Online.
Tengku Adnan also reminded elected representatives of their commitment towards the people, stressing that it should be the top item on their list of priorities.
“Elected representatives must realise that they are the people’s servants and not the other way around. That is most important.
“When you have the intention to be an elected representative, then do your best instead of dishing out all sorts of excuses like ‘we are not the government’, ‘not a minister’ so we cannot deliver our promises,” he added.
The Election Commission will be meeting on Wednesday to decide on the nomination and polling dates for the election in Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Terengganu and Kelantan.
