McDonald’s Malaysia said an internal investigation revealed that the customer insisted on paying for an additional 10 packets of chilli sauce.PETALING JAYA: Melaka police are tracking down a man to facilitate investigations into a claim that he was told to pay for extra packets of chilli sauce at a popular fast-food outlet.
Melaka Tengah police chief Christopher Patit said a statement from the 45-year-old man was needed as there were two versions of the incident, Bernama reported.
“Police received a report lodged by the female employee of the fast-food restaurant yesterday, claiming she feared for her safety after the customer recorded the incident.

The fast-food employee claimed that the customer had forced her to sell him 10 packets of chilli sauce despite her explaining that the condiments were free of charge, Christopher said. He added that the man apparently yelled at the employee.
However, Christopher said, the customer claimed that he was told to pay for the extra packets of chilli sauce.
Christopher said the case is being investigated for criminal intimidation.
Last night, McDonald’s Malaysia lodged a police report after a customer claimed that a staff member at an outlet charged him for extra packets of chilli sauce.
The restaurant said an internal investigation revealed that the customer insisted on paying for an additional 10 packets of chilli sauce and urged the crew to issue a receipt for the purchase.
Ads by KioskedMcDonald’s said the incident occurred at its outlet in Ayer Keroh, Melaka, when a staff member unintentionally gave the customer insufficient packets of chilli sauce.
