Mat Hasan Sees Hope For Bn In Chinese Indians Body Language

GE15 | Chinese and Indian voters are no longer hostile towards BN, according to Mohamad Hasan, whose observation is based on their body language when canvassing for votes in Rembau, Negeri Sembilan. 
National news agency Bernama produced two separate reports on the matter, one focusing on Chinese voters, and the other on Indians, with almost identical quotes from the Umno deputy president.
There was, however, one small distinction between the two races - the Chinese, said Mohamad, are “mesra” (friendly) but the Indians are “amat mesra” (very friendly).
In both articles, the former Negeri Sembilan menteri besar recalled how the Chinese and Indians would avoid the BN logo in the last general election.
Speaking about the Chinese, he said: “There is a change in attitude unlike in 2018. When they saw the ‘baju dacing’ (shirt with the BN logo of an old weighing scale), they would avoid it. When we entered the shops, they would go inside. But now they come out and wait for us.”
“We can read this body language. The entire country (is witnessing a shift in attitude among the Chinese and Indians), except for the hardcore supporters (of other parties).
“We don’t know if they will vote for us but their acceptance makes us happy. They are friendly. I cannot provide a percentage, but it is clear the majority (of them have changed),” he added.
Mohamad, who is popularly known as Mat Hasan, said this was also witnessed during several by-elections as well as in the Malacca and Johor state elections.
He was speaking to reporters after a walkabout in Pekan Kota in Rembau. Mohamad is the BN candidate for the Rembau parliamentary seat.
Meanwhile, in Taman Permata, Mohamad spoke about the Indians.
He noted that there has been a significant increase in support, with 28 percent in the Malacca polls and Johor recording a similar trend.
“Their body language and responses are very encouraging. 
“During GE14, they would try to avoid it if they saw the BN logo. This time, they are very friendly, waiting for BN’s arrival. This will translate (into votes) for this election,” he added. - Mkini
