The accused was arrested after the victim told a friend about her ordeal.PETALING JAYA: A 24-year-old Malaysian security officer who boasted about raping his drunk colleague three times at his flat in Singapore has been jailed for 15 years.
He was also ordered to be given 20 strokes of the cane after he pleaded guilty in the Singapore High Court to rape, sexual assault by penetration, and distribution of a voyeuristic image of the woman, a fellow Malaysian aged 27.
He also pleaded guilty to two other charges of insulting the modesty of another woman, a 39-year-old Singaporean woman by taking videos of her in the shower, the Straits Times newspaper reported.
The court took into consideration 20 other charges, including two for raping the younger woman and 18 for filming the older woman.
Names of the accused and victims were not revealed under a gag order to protect the victims’ identities.
The court was told that the man and the rape victim were work colleagues at a security company. They occasionally exchanged messages after the accused asked the victim for her phone number.
The victim blacked out after they had alcoholic drinks at the void deck of their apartment building and the accused recorded six video clips of her in a severely intoxicated state, the court was told.
He carried her back to his flat, pulled down her underwear and took a photo which he then sent to his friend.
While the victim was unconscious, he raped her three times and carried out other sexual acts between 1am and 9.40am on June 22. He sent a message to his friend to say that he “did it” three times after raping her for the third time.
The accused was arrested a month later after the victim had told a friend about her ordeal.
The rape victim was warded at the Institute of Mental Health for three months. - FMT
