Malaysia Is Not Too Far Behind In The Fight Against Covid 19

The good news is Malaysia is not too far behind in performance. The bad news is, even if 100% of Malaysians have been vaccinated, this does not mean Covid-19 will go away. It is still going to be with us. Hence our task now is to learn how to live with Covid. NO HOLDS BARRED

As at today, 27.5% of the world’s population has received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, and 13.9% are fully vaccinated.
Around four billion doses of the vaccine have been administered globally, and 29 million are now being administered each day.
However, only 1.1% of the people in low-income countries have received at least one dose.
In Malaysia, as of yesterday, a total of 18,393,347 Covid-19 vaccine jabs have been administered nationwide, which comes to around 57% of the population.
At the rate Malaysia is going, which means at half a million jabs a day, by or before the end of 2021, most Malaysians would be fully vaccinated.
In the UK, 46,653,796 people (or 69%) have received their first dose and 37,459,060 (or 56%) their second dose.
In the US, 49.7% of the people have been fully vaccinated and the government has asked its citizens to start wearing masks again because a very high percentage of those who have been infected with Covid-19 are those who have been fully vaccinated. In some countries, 80-90% of those who got Covid have already been vaccinated.
The good news is Malaysia is not too far behind in performance. The bad news is, even if 100% of Malaysians have been vaccinated, this does not mean Covid-19 will go away. It is still going to be with us. Hence our task now is to learn how to live with Covid.
