Line Crossed Children Not Bargaining Chips Izzah On Rafizi S Son
PKR deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar has lent her voice to growing anger over the attack on the son of her predecessor, Rafizi Ramli.
She said a line had been crossed.
"I am personally affected, as in recent weeks I have been focused on efforts to protect schoolchildren from threats and bullying, including in the digital space.
"Politics may be a battlefield of ideas and opinions, but the safety of children and families must never be used as leverage or bargaining chips," Nurul Izzah (above) said in a statement today.
Yesterday, Rafizi's 12-year-old son was dragged out by two assailants and stabbed with a syringe as the Pandan MP, his wife and the boy were entering their car at a shopping mall in Putrajaya.
Rafizi said the assailants were dressed in black and wearing full-face helmets.
Threatened with AIDS
Today, his wife also received threatening messages, including one that threatened to infect their son with AIDS if they don't keep quiet.
Rafizi believes the attack could be linked to his recent meeting with a “group of whistleblowers” with information on a scandal that implicated a “certain individual”.

Pandan MP Rafizi RamliThe former economy minister said while he had investigated numerous cases in the past, this was the first time he or his family had been targeted with threats - and in this instance, the threats were aimed at his wife.
Rafizi did not name the implicated individual, but in recent weeks, he had called on the MACC to open an investigation paper against Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s former aide, Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak, a rising politician-turned-entrepreneur, whose name was allegedly linked to a coal mining scandal. - Mkini
