Khairy Give Najib The Middle Finger What Does He Know About Young People
Khairy Jamaluddin has dismissed an Umno veteran’s justification of former premier Najib’s Abdul Razak’s appointment as BN adviser
“What does he know about young people?” the Rembau MP offered a single line response when quizzed on this in Parliament this afternoon
Khairy, the former youth and sports minister, was asked to comment on Umno supreme council member Tajuddin Abdul Rahman claiming that Najib was popular among youths as evidenced by his ‘Bossku’ campaign
“Many youths now seem to show their support towards him, ‘Bossku’
“Don’t underestimate this phenomenon… they are also voters,” he said, arguing that it would prove valuable for BN with the voting age lowered to 18
“That is one of the reasons why BN appointed him,” he added
The Pasir Salak MP was commenting on Khairy and another former minister Nazri Abdul Aziz’s (photo) criticism of Najib’s appointment
Having previously admitted that he was unhappy with Najib’s new role, Khairy yesterday maintained he had spoken up against the appointment for Umno’s own good
Najib has no executive powersTajuddin further said critics have no reason to worry as Najib’s new role does not give him any executive powers, and party leaders are free to accept or reject his advice
“If it’s good advice, we accept. If his advice is not relevant or not good for the party, we just listen
“There is no problem with that,” said Tajuddin, who pointed out that there is no guarantee Najib (photo) will once again stand in the next general elections to facilitate his speculated return as prime minister
“Some people are worried Najib is making a comeback and be the prime minister again. Who said so? The party never said so
“As chairperson of the advisory board, he may not even stand for elections when election comes,” he said
“When he is not a candidate, he will not be a prime minister.”In his officiation speech at Padang Rengas Umno division meeting yesterday, Nazri speculated that Najib might still be harbouring intentions of becoming prime minister again
He had said that Najib was likely planning to do so in view of Umno’s current good relations with PAS, which could brighten BN’s chances
