He stressed that he has never dealth with anyone or any side regarding stock investment.
"My side has never liaised or dealt with any stock investment company," he said on his Facebook account last night.
He said this when asked to comment on his photograph being used for a stock investment advertisement that went viral on social media.
According to Khairy, a report will be lodged with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) regarding the false advertisement.
A Facebook account, under the name of Faizal Rais, commended Khairy in the comments section of his post for acting swiftly in denying any involvement and therefore blocking scammers and cheats from using pictures of public figures.
"Congratulations KJ (Khairy) for providing a fast, quick response so that scammers cannot just use the image of public figures to influence members of the public for their ruse," he said.
Another Facebook user going by the name of Sam noted that such actions are the work of audacious get-rich-quick-scheme groups that unscrupulous as they dare to use Khairy's name and image.
Another Facebook user going by the name of Jamal Mut said that over the last couple of weeks, there have been many such advertisements of stock investment schemes
"The faces of many popular individuals have been used indiscriminately for such advertisements. They use mule accounts to collect people's money," he wrote in the comment section. - NST
