Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor’s special officer has buried the hatchet with a night market trade following a purported altercation between them
In a TikTok video, the two individuals were seen greeting each other and hugging as others watched and lauded their action.
The special officer, Salmy Anas Ahmad, told Kosmo! that the pair met at a stall in Alor Setar about 11pm last night.
“Actually, there is no issue between us. We have known each other for more than a year, and my relationship with some of the traders is like family,” he said.
In a separate report, Salmy also denied that he was rude to the trader as captured in a separate TikTok video that went viral.
He told Sinar Harian that he went to the night market area at around 11.30pm on Sunday to look into a problem involving the traders.
According to Salmy, he wanted to discuss the matter with the traders’ representative, but there were two others.
“I told him that I could not discuss the matter with unknown individuals to avoid it becoming political.
“So I got back in the car when one of the individuals involved shouted repeatedly, calling me to get down while recording a video.
“I then asked him to stop recording, and he asked me to discuss the matter elsewhere,” he added.
Earlier, police said that an investigation had been opened into the altercation.
Kota Setar police chief Siti Nor Salawati Saad said that two reports were lodged yesterday over the incident. - Mkini
