My comments : We thank Allah for the mamaks.  Well not all the time but at critical junctures in our country's history the mamak people have stepped up to the plate and taken a swing at things - to put things right.

The explosive affidavit by Court of Appeals Judge Justice Hamid Sultan Abu Backer (who is a mamak) basically fingering almost the entire senior bench (including the Chief Justice) for "judicial misconduct" has obviously struck home.  Lets hope the RCI will be given free reign to get to the bottom of this mess.

'Judicial misconduct' makes it sound almost innocuous (not really harmful).  
If a judge kentuts it is still a kentut. 
There is no such thing as a judicial venting.
So it is corruption - plain and simple. Crime. A criminal act.
Notwithstanding senior or junior judges, criminals should go to jail.    

That is the law for the rest of us 32 million people. 
No exceptions for judges.
What is so special about judges who are criminals?
You do the crime then you must do the time.

I have met Justice Hamid Sultan just once circa 1989 (30 years ago). He crossed the street near Jalan Silang to say hello to my wife and I. My wife was a law student at the International Islamic University and attended a class taught by Justice Hamid Sultan (who at that time was an up and coming young lawyer).

Considering that the mamak community has suffered such severe embarrasments like that Tabung Haji fellow being charged in Court for simple thievery, the former IGP and  the former KSN (both of whom are mamaks)  having left government under some clouds, the Kimma Party still supporting the kleptocratic BN, this brave and bold action by Justice Hamid Sultan Abu Backer to go against almost the entire judiciary and government machinery by writing his 65 page affidavit is a great face saving device for the mamak community.

Sadly another DKK lawyer was arrested yesterday. 
On a charge of money laundering involving RM15 million. 

The rot runs very wide and very deep.

From what I hear the rot has not stopped. Under the new Pakatan Harapan government the rot is continuing. (By the way in Cameron Highlands it was RM10.0 million to repair the homes of the Orang Asli. So who got the contracts?)

I hope this RCI over the judges being involved in corruption will gather steam soonest possible.

I have previously blogged that that billion Ringgit IPP project in Kedah (Northern Utility Resources Sdn Bhd - which was developed by the company where I was a director) was hijacked by Jamaludin Jarjis and co. My bosses and co-directors did initiate legal action in the Courts.  But we were frustrated by the Court process which even refused to admit some of the documentary evidence that we had in our possession.  We suspect that we were victims of the same 'judicial misconduct'.

If the RCI wishes to investigate the shoddy treatment meted out to the case involving Northern Utility Resources Sdn Bhd then I am sure that my former Boss and co director will be more than wiling to assist the RCI.  We were most certainly wronged.

Back to Justice Hamid Sultan,  congratulations are due. The whole country is behind you - except for a few. Dont worry about them.  

The world where wrong can prevail over right does not yet  exist.
