Just Admit You Have Nothing On Dr M Over Batu Puteh Fadhli Tells Pm
PAS MP Ahmad Fadhli Shaari urged Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to admit that he has nothing solid to pursue a charge against his predecessor, Dr Mahathir Mohamad, over the Pulau Batu Puteh issue.
This came after Anwar told the Dewan Rakyat that the cabinet had decided not to charge Mahathir due to age and his status as former premier.
“The prime minister should admit he has no solid proof to charge Mahathir.
“If you’re talking about the age factor, MACC just seized former finance minister, the late Daim Zainuddin’s assets despite his passing,” said the Pasir Mas MP on Facebook today.
ADSEarlier, Anwar said the decision was made because the issue involves a former prime minister, who has reached 100.

"Was he not wrong (in the Pulau Batu Puteh issue)? He was. But do we need to take action against him? I was in the cabinet meeting, I agree that we should not take any action.
"Because if we take action, you, Kota Bharu, will be the one shouting, accusing us of being unfair," he said during Ministers' Question Time at the Dewan Rakyat this morning.
On Dec 5 last year, the royal commission of inquiry on Batu Puteh, Batuan Tengah, and Tubir Selatan recommended a criminal investigation be launched against Mahathir.
The report accused Mahathir of deceiving the cabinet in 2018 into withdrawing Malaysia's review of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) decision to award sovereignty over Batu Puteh to Singapore.
The RCI said Mahathir had already made a unilateral decision to drop the review without the cabinet and had merely briefed cabinet members on why he had done so.
‘Dr M won’t seek immunity’
On that note, Fadhli took a swipe at Anwar over the matter, stating Mahathir would neither delay court proceedings nor seek immunity if charged in court.
“In all probability, the ‘old man’ will defend himself without fear in court,” Fadhli said, adding that Anwar should resign instead of coming up with lame excuses.

Last month, Anwar filed an application to the court to suspend a civil suit brought by Yusoff Rawther, who filed a suit in 2021, alleging that the Tambun MP had sexually assaulted him at the PKR president’s office in October 2018.
Anwar’s application, directed at the Federal Court, was premised on whether he would get immunity from civil proceedings initiated by Yusoff.
While the Kuala Lumpur High Court denied Anwar’s bid, the Court of Appeal yesterday granted a stay in the civil proceedings filed by Yusoff, pending a decision from the Federal Court. - Mkini
