Johor Facing Water Cuts On July 30 And 31

JOHOR BARU: More than 170,000 accounts here will be facing water disruption for 23 hours, starting at 10am on Tuesday (July 30) until 9am on Wednesday (July 31)
This is due to maintenance work carried out at the Sungai Johor water treatment plant
Among the affected areas are Taman Ehsan Jaya, Taman Desa Jaya, Taman Desa Cemerlang, Taman Bukit Tropika, Taman Industri Gemilang, Taman Industri Tropika and Taman Johor Jaya
Other affected areas are Taman Daya, Kempas Lurah, Kempas Denai, Kempas Permatang, Kempas Banjaran, Taman Indah dan Tampoi Jaya, Industry premises in Jalan Kempas, Taman Kempas, the TNB Kempas quarters and store, the Federal Health Science College, Permai Hospital, Taman Seroja, Taman Bukit Alif, Bandar Baru Uda and the Civil Defence Force building
Aside from this, Taman Kobena, Taman Desa Rahmat, Kampung Seri Serdang, Greenfield Melana Indah, Kampung Pasir, Taman Tampoi, Taman Okid, Country Garden, Larkin Idaman, Larkin Jaya, Larkin market, Taman Sentosa, Taman Kebun Teh, Taman Iskandar, Kampung Bakar Batu and Istana Pasir Pelangi will also be affected
Other areas included in the list are Taman Sri Intan, Stulang Laut, Stulang Darat, Jalan Lumba Kuda, Taman Nusa Idaman, Taman Nusa Bestari, Taman Mount Austin, Taman Austin Height, Austin Perdana, Taman Perling, Taman Sutera, Kampung Sungai Danga, Taman Iskandar Puteri, Kampung Ulu Pulai and the Bukit Saujana apartment
State International Trade, Investment and Utilities Committee chairman Jimmy Puah Wee Tse said the National Water Services Commission (SPAN) has approved the application made by Ranhill SAJ to conduct the work at the treatment plant, which is scheduled on July 30
“This maintenance work will cause the water supply to be disrupted for most parts around here,” he said, adding that more than 170,000 accounts would be affected
He added that users were urged not to panic, as the disruption is due to routine maintenance work to ensure clean water supply for all users in the near future
Puah said users involved must store enough water for their own usage during the disruption period and use it prudently
