It S Madness Says Veteran Newsman On Muhyiddin S New Appointment
A Kadir Jasin (left) said the appointment of Muhyiddin Yassin shows the prime minister is treating the government like a ‘playground’.PETALING JAYA: The appointment of a “failed” prime minister to head a vital body like the National Recovery Council shows Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob is treating the government like a “playground”, says veteran newsman A Kadir Jasin.
He said the move is obviously to secure Ismail’s position because former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin heads the Bersatu party which has 31 MPs needed to keep him in power.
“Muhyiddin lost his support in Parliament and he has been appointed to rehabilitate the country after damaging much of it. What kind of madness is this?
“Ismail does not care because it’s not his money. It’s taxpayers’ money,” Kadir wrote on his Facebook page.
Ismail was backed by 31 Bersatu MPs to form the new government after Muhyiddin resigned last month.
Kadir said it was clear that the prime minister did not respect the rakyat and had deliberately belittled their intelligence with Muhyiddin’s appointment.
He also questioned the “awkwardness” in Muhyiddin’s appointment yesterday as it was announced by the Chief Secretary to the Government, Mohd Zuki Ali, and not the Prime Minister’s Office.
Kadir pointed out that the reappointments of Abdul Hadi Awang as special envoy to the Middle East, Tiong King Sing (China) and Richard Riot (East Asia) had been announced by the Prime Minister’s Department.
He said the opposition and rakyat had criticised Ismail widely for what they termed as his “recycled” Cabinet after most of the non-performing ministers were reappointed.
Kadir said it had only been 15 days since his appointment as prime minister but Ismail’s decisions show he is not serious in creating a credible administration.
“His actions reinforce the general view of social media users that this government of political frogs must be taught a lesson in the next general election,” he said. - FMT
