PKR Youth has questioned Perikatan Nasional and its chief Muhyiddin Yassin's continued objections to proposed terms for equal funding for opposition MPs.
ADSThe wing's communications director, Haziq Azfar, called on Muhyiddin (above) to explain what his coalition members are against in the memorandum of understanding (MOU).
"Does he reject it because he doesn't want to declare his assets?
"Does PN not want to restrain themselves from making hateful and inciting statements about race and religion?" he asked in a statement today.
Asset declarations and not touching on 3R (race, religion, royalty) are among the seven terms of a proposed MOU for equal funding presented to the opposition last year, which PN had rejected outright.
However, they are now getting the government to set up a committee to discuss the matter.
Amid this, Deputy Prime Minister Fadillah Yusof - who is in charge of the negotiations - announced that Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman had reached terms with the government and would be getting equal funding soon.
Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul RahmanResponding to this, Muhyiddin told reporters last night that PN still maintains that the deal is unacceptable.
"Let it be if Syed Saddiq gets it, PN has its reasons why it can't accept (the terms).
"Their (the government's) terms are quite extraordinary, restrictive like we are forced to give everything to Pakatan Harapan just to get RM200,000 to RM300,000," he was quoted as saying by Sinar Harian.
Rejection of transparency?
Haziq said that Muhyiddin's outright rejection of the MOU signalled an opposition to the principles of transparency.
