Igp Treason To Enlist Help Of Foreign Elements In Political Turmoil

KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador is warning against bringing in foreign elements to assist "certain individuals" gain the upper hand in the ongoing political turmoil
The Inspector-General of Police said the King had called on the police and relevant authorities to be vigilant and monitor the situation
"There is a little bit of 'sound' that there are those out there trying to bring foreign elements in to help certain parties
"For me, this is treason. Please do not involve outsiders
"I am warning parties that try to bring in outside elements or have such intentions, action will be taken if I can identify them," he told reporters after meeting with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong at the Istana Negara on Friday (Feb 28)
He explained that his meeting with the King, along with Armed Forces chief, was to brief on the latest situation in the country
"Alhamdullilah, in general, our country is still peaceful and under control, but the (political) temperature is slightly increasing," he said
Hamid also called on political leaders to continue with their activities as provided under the Federal Constitution and respective laws
"Please avoid from making any provocative statements. As for the public, please stop all forms of speculation that is illogical and that can bring harm," he added
Hamid also noted that the police had opened a new investigation paper involving a post touching on the palace
"It is as if the person knows what is really happening inside the palace, including the numbers of nominations received
"That is not good. That is within the powers of the King. How can that person know the exact numbers of nominations? So, please do not play around with this," he said
"I have ordered the Criminal Investigation Department to take the next course of action," he added
He reiterated that the police would take swift and drastic action on irresponsible parties who try to disrupt public order.- Star
