Former federal territories minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor. (Bernama pic)KUALA LUMPUR: Former federal territories minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor today revealed that he had met anti-graft officials 12 times since the Pakatan Harapan government took over Putrajaya
“I have told them what I know,” he said in the Dewan Rakyat, referring to his meetings with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC)
He also challenged Tan Kok Wai (PH-Cheras) to repeat outside of the Dewan Rakyat accusations that land belonging to the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) had been sold at below market price either through direct negotiations or no negotiations at all
Tan had labelled this a scandal and urged for court action to be taken
“You accuse me outside. I will take you to court,” Tengku Adnan, popularly known as Ku Nan, told Tan
He also said land matters in the federal territories had been under the purview of the Prime Minister’s Department since 2013
On May 16, Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng said he had lodged a report with MACC over 64 parcels of land sold by DBKL during Tengku Adnan’s tenure as minister from 2013 to 2018
According to Lim, the 64 plots of land had a combined area of 424.29 acres and a total transaction value of RM4.28 billion
He alleged that less than half of the land was sold for affordable housing developments while the rest was meant for expensive residential and commercial projects
He also urged MACC to investigate Tengku Adnan who was federal territories minister at the time as well as chairman of Yayasan Wilayah Persekutuan. -FMT
