PETALING JAYA: Political activist Badrul Hisham Shaharin, better known as Chegubar,d has been forced to forfeit plans to make his way to the Johor Baru Court by foot due to severe foot blisters.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday (Dec 10), Chegubard said he had tried to soldier on but was unable to continue.
“Earlier this morning, it was not only my feet hurting but also my whole body. The journey was supposed to begin at 7am.
“I tried to muster everything I had up till 11am but was still unable to continue. My foot lesions are getting worse, and my muscles are getting stiffer,” he said.
“I am sorry, as I cannot do this any further. Once I reach Johor Baru, I may have to seek medical attention at a clinic,” he added.
Chegubard decided to make the journey to the Johor Baru Court on foot as a sign of protest in his mission ‘Protes Jalan Kaki – Demi Maruah Diri dan Kembalikan Perjuangan ke Tangan Rakyat’.
He is headed to the Johor Baru Court for the resumption of a court case involving him scheduled for this Thursday (Dec 11) and Friday (Dec 12).
He began the journey from Port Dickson on Monday (Dec 8) and had passed Melaka and Batu Pahat, Johor.
The third day of the journey was scheduled to end at Surau Parit Andin, Parit Yaani in Johor at about 10.30pm on Wednesday (Dec 10).
According to Google Maps, Parit Yaani is 192km from Port Dickson, about two-thirds of the 293km-long journey to Johor Baru.
Google Maps also indicated that it would take roughly 65 hours of continuous walking to complete the trip. - Star
