How Often Should Employees Take Mc Netizens Are Divided

HOW often should employees take MC? There are of course the iron men and iron women of the corporate world who come to work even if they have to drag along their IV tube.
The question, however, remains if it is a good practice to take MC if you are sick. Or a better question would be, should employees take MC even if they are not sick, and that they are merely looking to have a little extension of their annual leave?
Recently, a netizen raised some alarms on the cyberspace for encouraging employees to take MC.
The subject has since become food for thought for the many, garnering over 10,000 shares and 60 comments.
“If you want to dedicate your soul to your job until you don’t use your MC, it is totally your choice but it doesn’t make you better than anyone else,” said @_epiphiany who started the conversation.
“I have always thought about taking MC without the medication. This is because sometimes I want to take MC as I am not well but there are still medicine at home,” said @MJwmk13.
Another netizen, however, warned that some organisations have a policy where employees would have their increment and bonus affected should they constantly take MC, EL and AL.
Netizen @binjitt chipped in, saying people in his work place who rarely take MC get more bonus and have a higher chance of getting a promotion.
“So the company doesn’t care. You want to take MC? Take your MC. When you get a low bonus, don’t make noise,” he said.

To this, netizen @PyjaMassam said companies are not to be trusted as they will simply make up excuses.
“Companies should not have such policies as performance is based on work, not on MC,” @PyjaMassam said, adding that even if people don’t take MC, they will give some other reason not to give bonus or increment.
On the other hand, @syassakii88 shared that healthcare workers usually come to work even if they are slightly ill.
The culture is so because they are sympathetic towards their colleagues who have to cover the work of the many.
“When they take MC, it means the person really cannot work,” she said.

However, @09128734x said those sick people who come to the office are equally a nuisance, claiming that they will infect others.
“When your coworkers go home, they will infect their small children. It makes people’s lives difficult. Hopefully the lives of such people are difficult too,” he said. — Focus Malaysia
