Honda Malaysia Launches The Stylish All New Hr V In Four Variants

Honda Malaysia launched the Hip & Smart Runabout Vehicle, the All-New HR-V that has already been making waves in the market. The HR-V created a brand-new Compact SUV segment in 2015 making it the most sought after model since its introduction. The All-New HR-V which was developed with the concept of “AMP UP YOUR LIFE”, has been transformed featuring exceptional styling, advanced powertrain and innovative features yet remaining practical as an everyday companion.

Commenting on the exciting new model, Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Hironobu Yoshimura said, “The HR-V was designed to always stay one step ahead. The popularity of the HR-V is undeniable and it is the same for this new model. Since it was opened for booking, the All-New HR-V has gathered positive reviews from media and overwhelming response from the public. I am pleased to inform that the All-New HR-V has received more than 20,000 bookings. With the high-demand of this new model, we would like to update that the waiting period for the All-New HR-V is 12 months, depending on the availability of selected variant. However, rest assured that Honda Malaysia is doing our very best to deliver the new cars to our esteemed customers in a timely manner.”

Mr. Yoshimura added, “On another note, the extension of sales tax exemption by the Malaysian Government has also boosted Honda car sales. On behalf of Honda Malaysia, I would like to thank the Malaysian government for this initiative to support the automotive industry during the pandemic period.”

The exterior of the All-New HR-V has received a full transformation to appear stylish and premium compared to its predecessor. The front appearance is dominant with a New Sporty Front Grille Design while the rear is further elevated with a bold design comprising LED Taillight Strip. The attractive aesthetics of this new model consist of Front LED Sequential Turn Signals², Full LED Headlights with Daytime Running Lights (DRL), Front LED Fog Lights¹ and 18-inch Sporty Alloy Wheels² complete the new look of the All-New HR-V.

The All-New HR-V continues to raise the bar in the Compact SUV segment with the introduction of 3 powertrains for customers to choose from based on their lifestyle and preferences. First introduced in the City and City Hatchback, the e:HEV technology gained good market acceptance and will be expanded to the All-New HR-V RS to cater to customers who prefer highly efficient hybrid powertrain in a compact SUV body type. The 1.5L e:HEV system with 2-motors delivers 131PS of power and 253Nm of torque. The unique and advanced Honda’s 2-motor hybrid system regulates between three modes of driving: EV, Hybrid and Engine drive, that will switch alternately in accordance to driver’s driving conditions.

Customers who seek a thrilling performance will have the powertrain option of 1.5L VTEC Turbocharged Engine (V & E variants) which able to deliver 181PS and 240Nm of torque for an exhilarating and responsive driving experience. The RS, V and E variants will be offered with a drive mode options of NORMAL, SPORT, and ECON, which can be switched easily with Drive Mode Selector. The S variant of the All-New HR-V will be equipped with 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC engine producing 121PS and maximum torque of 145Nm.

The All-New HR-V’s interior has been designed to provide comfort and added modern feel and stylishness. The RS variant now features leather upholstery³, Sports Pedals, Dual Zone Auto Air Conditioning and Deceleration Selector Paddle. The RS, V and E variants features 7-inch Interactive TFT Meter Cluster and 8-inch Display Audio with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™⁴ Connectivity. Within its sophisticated interiors, Honda has introduced the Air Diffusion System in the All-New HR-V for better cooling circulation for all passengers. Additional standard feature in this new model is rear air conditioning ventilation.

Another first in segment and first in Honda advanced feature for the All-New HR-V RS variant is the Hands-Free Power Tailgate with Walkaway Close function, where tailgate will close automatically when the driver moves away from the vehicle after the 'Walkaway Close Switch' is switched ON. The Remote Engine Start¹ and Walk Away Auto Lock feature is also newly introduced in the All-New HR-V. Drivers of the All-New HR-V will also find the Hill Descent Control (HDC) feature helpful which automatically maintains at a set low speed, allowing the driver to concentrate on the steering when descending a steep hill.



The All-New HR-V comes equipped with a full set of advanced safety technologies namely Honda LaneWatch² and Honda SENSING. As an added value in protection for Honda customers, Honda SENSING, is made standard across all variants of the All-New HR-V.

All-New HR-V will be offered in five colours, Ignite Red Metallic, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic and Ruse Black Metallic.
