Hindu Ngo Wants India High Comm Perlis Ruler To Act Against Dr Maza For Int Defamation Incitement

MALAYSIAN NGO Hindu Agamam Ani Malaysia wants the India High Commission in Kuala Lumpur to lodge a report with the police and Home Ministry to kickstart an investigation into the defamatory and inciteful remarks made by Perlis Mufti Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin a.k.a. Dr MAZA against India and the Hindu community.
On a similar note, the NGO also urged New Delhi to issue a formal protest to Wisma Putra and JAKIM (Department of Islamic Affairs Malaysia) to condemn abuses by religious authority in cross birder defamation and incitement.
In a letter addressed to the Indian High Commissioner B.N. Reddy, Agamam Ani Malayasia’s legal unit director Arun Dorasamy further proposed that Dr MAZA be blacklisted from entering India or engaging with Indian institutions in any formal, academic or inter-faith capacity.
Additionally, the NGO called on India to release a public statement affirming its commitment to religious pluralism, democracy and minority rights to correct the gross misinformation that has been spread.

Hindu Agamam Ani Malaysia legal unit director Arun DorasamyArun who is a staunch Hindu activist in Malaysia listed six of Dr MAZA’s “dangerous rhetoric” as follows:
“India kills and rapes Muslim women in Kashmir and other places”: A fabricated and provocative claim meant to demonise the Indian state and stir religious hostility.“The Modi government is oppressive against Islam.”: A direct attack on a democratically elected government.“We as Muslims in Malaysia are obliged to support Pakistan”: A statement that undermines Malaysia’s neutrality and incites partisan allegiance in an international conflict.“India and Israel oppress Muslims, hence we must unite in jihad against them”: An incitement to extremism, dangerously invoking religious warfare narratives.“Kashmir belongs to Islam, and India is colonising it with military might”: A distortion of India’s sovereign affairs with the intent of radicalising sentiments.“Muslims cannot remain silent as our brothers in India are treated like animals”: A dehumanising and inciteful description meant to provoke hatred.Perlis ruler must act against Dr MAZA
Stating that Agamam Ani Malaysia has lodged a police report against Dr MAZA for violating Section 298A and 505(b) of the Malaysian Penal Code, Arun also cast concern that the matter would “undermine Malaysia’s diplomatic ties with India by fostering division and hostility”.
For the record, human rights activist and lawyer Siti Kasim has earlier slammed Dr MAZA for having meddled in the tensed India-Pakistan affairs by urging Malaysian Muslims to back Pakistan simply because it is a Muslim country.

This is because such action could disrupt religious harmony by indirectly pitting Malaysian Muslims against their Hindu compatriots, according to Siti Kasim.
Agamam Ani Malaysia also conveyed a similar message to Raja of Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail by requesting the latter to act against the defiant Dr MAZA for inciting religious hatred.
“This is not the first time that Dr MAZA has stirred up public controversy. His record over the years has shown a tendency to issue statements that are racist, religiously hateful and insulting to other faiths,” claimed Arun in his letter to the Perlis ruler.
“I therefore request that an Ethics Committee be established to investigate whether he is truly a bridge to harmony or instead a tension trigger in this country.”
On this note, Arun has the following request for Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin:
Examine the content of the video and advise the Perlis Mufti Department to take appropriate disciplinary action;Distance the good name of Your Highness and the Perlis Royal Institution from statements that have sparked international controversy and slander; andRe-affirm Perlis’ commitment to harmony between religions and races in line with Islamic values that prioritise justice, moderation and love. – Focus Malaysia
